Page Title

The page title is always an H2. There should only be one H2 per page. For Overview pages in sections for a specific department or topic where the title/description in the header directly matches the article content, the title should say Overview (see Assessing Department as an example). For pages nested further down in a section of the sitemap and whose page content does not directly match the content in the header, the Overview page title should instead be the title of the section (see Advisory Planning Commissions as an example).

*there should be one blank line (<p>) between content

Subheadings

Subheadings should always be H3, and should be immediately followed by a horizontal line. The horizontal line is automatically added to all H3's. Section titles should not have a colon at the end.

Sub-Subheadings

To break up content under an H3, use H5 for section titles. There is no requirement for extra white space (via a <p>) between sub-subheadings.

Content-Specific Formatting

In the subsections below, you will find details on how to format specific types of content.

Links

All typical hyperlinks should be set to open in a new window (target="_blank"). This includes links to files, images, documents, Google Maps etc. as well as any external URL, even if it is another KPB site (ex. nprsa.kpb.us). The only time a hyperlink's Target should be left unset is when the link is within this same site, if it's an email address, or a phone number.

TIP: to turn a phone number into a hyperlink, in the URL field of the hyperlink dialog box, enter "tel:9075551234" (without the quotes).

Contact Info

Contact info should follow the formatting example below. The contact info title should be bolded (see Seward Annex). Individual contact items should be followed by a colon and be bolded (ex. Phone:, Email:, etc.) Items should be listed with a line break <br> rather than a <p> (use Shift+Enter, rather than just Enter).

Maps links should be a Google Maps link to the address, set to open in a new tab. Ensure that all the text is one link. Joomla may try to make separate lines into their own, separate links.

Do not link fax numbers. The displayed format of contact numbers should always be (555) 555-5555 for regular numbers, or 1-800-555-5555 for toll-free numbers.

Entities with multiple locations should have their locations listed under an H3 with horizontal line.

Members of Comittees or Boards

Members of boards or committees should be displayed in the format below. The Seat title and Term Expiration should be bold. Use a line break <br> for new lines, not a <p>. If there is an email, link it (there is ongoing effort to remove all email addresses. Check and make sure an online contact form is not already available before posting an email address). Do NOT add a maps link to the address of board members! Add 1 blank line between each board member.

Icons

Icons are sourced from the Phosphor icon library, or can be custom created so long as they match icons from that library. Icons should be "Regular" line thickness, 32px square, in the color #FDB518, as shown in the screenshot of settings below. This direct link will take you to the Phosphor icon library with the settings pre-set.

 Phosphor Icon Settings

Download the icons in .png format and set them as the image on the desired article. The icon will then show in Articles - Category modules set to display that article.
