The mission of the Solid Waste Department is to develop and implement solid waste programs and dispose of waste generated in the KPB in an economically feasible and environmentally responsible manner and in accordance with the KPB code and with federal and state requirements.

Hazardous Waste Collection Schedule
Events are held from 8:00AM - 5:00PM on designated Saturdays throughout the year, except Seldovia.

- Central Peninsula Landfill: January 17, March 7, May 9, June 13, July 18, September 19, November 7
- Homer Transfer Facility: January 10, May 2, July 11, September 5
- Seward Transfer Facility: January 24, May 16, July 25, September 26
- Seldovia City Boat Launch: September 4, Friday 9:00AM - 3:00PM
