Overview
The role of the Assessing Department is to discover, list, and value all taxable property in the borough in a fair and uniform manner in accordance with state law and borough code. The Assessing Department also administers tax exemption programs as authorized by law.
The Borough Assessment is the basis on which Borough and City tax is calculated. The assessment is the estimated full and true value of a property on January 1 of the assessment year.
