Subdivision plats, the vacation of rights-of-way, utility easements and other related land use processes are handled by the Platting staff.

Plat Amendment Application

PLAT AMENDMENT PROCEDURES

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES ARE TO BE FOLLOWED WHEN AMENDING AN ORIGINAL FILED MYLAR.

  1. COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE PORTIONS OF FORM REQUESTING PERMISSION TO WITHDRAW THE ORIGINAL MYLAR FOR AMENDMENT.
  2. SUBMIT COMPLETED REQUEST FORM WITH A $50 APPLICATION FEE TO THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH PLANNING DEPARTMENT.
  3. THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT WILL SCHEDULE THE REQUEST FOR PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION.
  4. FOLLOWING APPROVAL BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION, THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT STAFF WILL FORWARD THE REQUEST TO ANCHORAGE FOR THE 
    STATE RECORDER’S APPROVAL.
  5. UPON THE STATE RECORDER’S APPROVAL, THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT STAFF WILL NOTIFY THE SURVEYOR WITH FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING THE PLAT CORRECTIONS.
  6. JUST ABOVE THE TITLE BLOCK THE WORD “AMENDED” WILL BE SHOWN IN READILY DISCERNABLE MANNER.
  7. THE SURVEYOR WILL AMEND AND REFILE THE MYLAR, ALONG WITH AN AFFIDAVIT CONTAINING THE REVISION STATEMENT. IF THE REVISION STATEMENT IS PLACED ON THE MYLAR, A SEPARATE AFFIDAVIT PAGE IS NOT NEEDED.
  8. UPON FILING OF THE AMENDED MYLAR, THE SURVEYOR WILL ADVISE THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT OF THE REFILED PLAT NUMBER.
  9. THE SURVEYOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PLAT AND WILL BEAR ALL COSTS OF REPRODUCTION IF THE ORIGINAL IS MISPLACED OR DAMAGED.
