Tourism Industry Working Group

Established by KPB Resolution 2024-037.

The Tourism Industry Working Group (TIWG) was established to evaluate tourism benefits and impacts on current revenue, costs and services and discuss potential options or ideas, and the associated date, for ensuring that visitors are paying their fair share for services they use.

 

Members

Industry Representatives: Carol Fraser, Duane Bannock, Tom Tougas, Jonathan Faulkner, Alternate

Community Members: Denis Hippert, Donna Hall, Larry Opperman, Sargeant Truesdell, Donald St. John, Alternate

Ex-Officio Members: Borough Mayor Peter A. Micciche, two Assembly Members [to be appointed by the Assembly President]

City Representatives: [to be designated by the cities]

Support Staff: Borough Clerk’s Office & Legal Department

Meeting Location: All meetings will be conducted in the Betty J. Glick Assembly Chambers, 144 N. Binkley Street, Soldotna, AK 99669

 

Meeting Information

TIWG will meet during the winter months and provide a report to the assembly before the 2025 tourism season begins.
