Fire & EMS

Our fire and emergency responders work to support a resilient and fire-safe community.

Kachemak EMS

What’s in a name? Have you ever wondered why Kachemak Emergency Services is called Kachemak Emergency Services? It’s because we do lots of stuff, not just fire and EMS! We do fight fire and provide emergency medical services (EMS), of course, but we also extricate people out of wrecked vehicles, we do high angle rescue, we conduct public education, we do community outreach, we conduct backcountry rescue, we help train our neighbors around the state… the list goes on and on. And yes, we have even rescued cats out of trees.

If any of this sounds like something you would want to be a part of and you want to join this glorious group, then we want to hear from you! Come volunteer with us! Give us a call at (907) 235-9811, or drop by the fire station at 53048 Ashwood Ave out by McNeil Canyon. You give us the enthusiasm and we’ll give you the training and opportunity to make a difference in somebody’s life.
