Johni Blankenship

Borough Clerk

I moved to Alaska in 1968, spending the majority in Soldotna. After graduating from SoHi in 1985, I started a family and now have seven (7) grandchildren growing up in the Central Peninsula.

Hired as Administrative Assistant to the KPB Clerk’s office in 1999, I was appointed to the position of Deputy Clerk in 2005 and Borough Clerk in 2008. I received my Certified Municipal Clerk designation in 2007 and my Master Municipal Clerk designation in 2011. I was the recipient of Alaska Municipal League’s “Municipal Employee of the Year” award in 2013, and the Alaska Association of Municipal Clerks, “Clerk of the Year” award in 2016. I served on the executive board of the Alaska Association of Municipal Clerks from 2011 through 2015. I was the President of the Association in 2013.

Michele Turner

Deputy Clerk

I grew up in Anchorage and moved to the peninsula with my husband and our five children in 2005. We are so happy to not only call the peninsula our home, but the home of our two older children and their growing families.

I was hired as the Administrative Assistant for the Clerk’s Office in 2008 and appointed as the Deputy Borough Clerk and Borough Records Manager in 2013. I am an active member of Alaska Municipal Clerks Association, ARMA International, ARMA – Alaska Chapter, and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks since joining the Clerk’s Office. I received my Certified Municipal Clerk designation in 2015 and received a Records and Information Management designation in 2017.
