Alaska Recycles is beginning a pilot project in the Fairbanks area that will provide curbside recycling pickup! The company wants to give community members a convenient way to get their recyclables to the FNSB Central Recycling Facility (CRF). Recycling pick up is available for both residents and businesses. For a fee, Alaska Recycles would pick up your recyclables from your curb once or twice per month as requested, then, sort the recyclables for you by type (aluminum, plastic #1 an #2, paper or cardboard) and deliver them to the CRF.

Earth Day is coming up, and events and ways to celebrate are popping up all around. Habitat for Humanity – Anchorage‘s Habitat ReStore – Anchorage is hosting their annual event this Saturday from 11 – 4 at the ReStore, located at 1200 W Northern Lights Blvd. Vendors will help you recycle hard-to-dispose-of items, and each household that donates and/or recycles will receive a 15% off coupon to the Habitat ReStore, as well as a raffle ticket to win gift cards and prizes.
